“Work-life balance” is a beautiful lie.
It assumes there’s a clear line between work and life — that we clock out and suddenly become whole again.
But for most of us, especially young professionals, work is life. It shapes our identity, our self-worth, our stress levels, and our mental health.
So if work-life balance no longer reflects our reality — what new mantra should we champion instead? That’s the conversation we will have together. And there’s no better time to have it than now.
This week marks Mental Health Awareness Week — and we’re using it to shine a spotlight on a growing but often unspoken crisis:
A workplace mental health crisis that’s costing Danish companies 16.4 billion kroner annually, while Millennials and Gen Z face unprecedented levels of anxiety, burnout, and disconnection.
In this session, we’ll explore:
• What is the mental health crisis, and what’s fueling it beneath the surface?
• What role does the workplace play in this — and what responsibility does it carry?
• Who’s accountable: the employee or the employer?
• What does the future of work look like — and how can you help shape it?
Your facilitator for this session is Subhi Irshed, a workplace mental health expert who founded the NGO Millennial Mental Wellbeing in 2020 and the social enterprise My Mental Wellbeing in 2024. He has collaborated with psychologists, business leaders, and young professionals, gathering over 10,000 data points to uncover the roots of this crisis — and map a sustainable, human path forward.
