Leading with Inclusion and Diversity in the Tech Industry by Random Hacks of Kindness
March 24 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm CETFree
We are back with a new date, 24th of March, for our event!
About the event
How can we make sure all people are welcome and included, when innovating and creating value? The benefits of fostering diversity and inclusion in tech seem undeniable, yet, the gap is still there. Latest studies show that diverse teams outperform other teams, by providing broader viewpoints and stronger networks, and more closely matching target customers.
On March 24th, we’ll discuss how to ensure inclusion and diversity in the process of developing solutions. One of our speakers, Plamena Cherneva, will highlight the issue weighing on the tech industry, and guide us towards creating more diverse teams and making organizations attractive to a wider group of people. This will be followed by a panel discussion where Tegan Spinner joins us to expand the conversation and chat about how to improve the status quo and move towards more inclusive workspaces.
The talk will be followed by an open discussion panel, and later on a networking session while enjoying drinks and good vibes.
- 18:00 – Doors open
- 18:30 – Talk with Plamena Cherneva + RHoK
- 19:00 – Panel Discussion with Plamena Cherneva and Tegan Spinner
About the speakers
Plamena Cherneva is the founder of WonderCoders, an non profit organization with a mission to support and empower women pursuing their careers in IT. She’s also the initiator of the Nordic Women in Tech Awards, a celebration of female accomplishments in the Nordic tech scene.
Plamena also works as an Expert IT consultant at NTTDATA Business Solutions in the Nordic Region. Plamena’s mission is to break barriers to entry into the tech world and make it a safer and more attractive space for women and other minority groups. Her work highlights the issue of the lack of diversity in tech teams, and educates decision makers on the benefits of having more people, and different kinds of people, in their organizations.
Following Plamenas talk, we will be joined by Tegan Spinner, CEO and Founder of Worthmore and Matrikel1’s Community Manager, to open up the conversation in a panel discussion!
