On 12 October at 19.00 we invite everyone to Matrikel1 Bar & Cafe (Gammel Strand 26, 1202 Kopenhaagen) to meet the members of Estonian folk metal band Metsatöll. Metsatöll will start their European tour from Copenhagen and will be happy to meet local Estonians on the eve of the concert. The format of the meeting will be free, with both performers and guests able to ask questions. Metsatöllu has become one of the best known Estonian metal bands in the world, and the style has now reached a form where ancient reggae singing, the kantele and the pipe organ sound equally well alongside the classical coarse-stringed violin. (…) Today, their popularity in Estonia has crossed all genre boundaries, and at their concerts you can meet people who have never heard of the fact that two bass drums can be used at the same time. Metsatöllu’s aim is to preserve the culture, songs and stories unique to Estonia, to be an Estonian in their own land and to remember!
