DIGS joins Mesh Community
It’s an exciting day for us here at Mesh Community. We have joined forces with Trondheim’s leading startup hub and are building a brand new 5,100 sqm building in the city centre.
Founded by Mats Mathisen and Arnstein J. Syltern in 2013, DIGS was an early mover, and one of the original coworking spaces in Norway. The strong community, of tech companies and founders at DIGS, enjoys a solid local position which we are happy to become a part of. This move is further strengthened by our shared values with Mats and Arnstein, who will remain on site and continue running DIGS and our Trondheim operations.
“Trondheim is the tech capital of Norway and we want to be a part of the ecosystem there. DIGS is the leading coworking and innovation space in Trondheim and this merger is an important move to integrate even more creators in the Nordics,” says Anders Mjåset, Chief Product Officer and Co-Founder of Mesh Community.
Linking creators across the Nordics
Our vision is to increase inter connectivity, linking the region’s creators to one another, the Nordic startup scene, and the international entrepreneurial ecosystem. Our purpose is to reinforce the leading position of Trondheim as the tech capital of Norway and connect it to the startup scene. We believe that the new DIGS site will cater to many next-level entrepreneurs who need a more established place to grow.
“With this move, Trondheim will be even more visible in the Nordic entrepreneurial community. This increased dialogue in the Nordics will give us a stronger position internationally. It’s about empowering creation,” says Arnstein J. Syltern, Head of Business Development and Co-Founder of DIGS.
We are also opening a café that will not only cater to our members but also be open to the public.
The new DIGS space
With its five floors, our new hub will cater to core members using the space as their primary workspace. We are also targeting an extended network of community members such as investors, artists, change-makers and the general public.
The new DIGS will provide an inspirational meeting place and innovation platform, where the first floor will have an open café and large flexible event space for up to 250 attendees. The second, third and fourth floors will be will have a central zone surrounded by offices catering to scaling companies in the range of 1-20 employees. The top floor will offer a one-of-a-kind work lounge, multiple meeting rooms, events space and large terrace offering an uninterrupted view of Trondheim’s downtown. Our target for 2019 is to attract 10,000 guests to the café, 10,000 event attendees and 500+ core members within the first full year of operation.
