Finally! We are opening Mesh Youngstorget

By News

2020 has been a challenging year in so many ways. With immense negative consequences for many companies in our community, but also with great possibilities. Now at the end of the year, we also see how many of our members have adapted and their businesses are thriving in the new normal. We look forward to the new year and to welcome new members to Mesh Youngstorget.

Old space in new wrapping
Møllergata 6-8 has since the end of the eighteenth century accommodated companies with new ideas and strong innovation traditions. No. 6 has been the headquarters of the iconic furniture manufacturer and retailer, A. Huseby & Co, where they designed, produced and sold Norwegian quality furniture until recently.

We are proud to continue the operation of these buildings with innovation and entrepreneurship as a lead. Since we took over the buildings, we started a large-scale complete renovation, we connect the two buildings together so that the space fulfils the purpose and our members’ needs.

Mandatory work experience for politicians

By News

Confidence in politicians is at an all-time low. The public does not feel represented by our country’s leaders and feel that they make decisions that show they don’t understand what it’s like to live an ordinary life outside of politics. I think this is a democratic crisis and politicians need to do something about it.

As a leader, you are responsible for gaining the support of the people behind you. You have to show that you are worthy of their trust and you have to take the lead to show that you have their best interests in mind. As a politician, it is impossible to make everyone happy, but a responsible politician must be responsive to public sentiment.

Mesh Community raises 40M NOK to expand our innovation house concept to more locations

By News

We’re pleased to announce that we have secured funding for a considerable expansion across the Nordics.

With backing from some of the most successful real estate people and prominent tech investors in the region, we’re now perfectly positioned to open more workspaces and innovation hubs in more cites, as well as expand in cities we’re already in.

This round’s investors include Ivar Koteng, Møller Eiendom, Johan Odfjell, Daimyo, Vestaksen, Tharald Nustad, Ivar Arnesen, Petter Fornæss and Wiski Capital.

In April, we’re expanding two of our existing sites. DIGS in Trondheim is growing to 5,000 m2 and Matrikel1 in Copenhagen is expanding with 7,600 m2. Combining that with our sites, Mesh in Oslo and Founders House in Copenhagen, (where we also operate Startup Village) our 100 employees now operate 24,000 m2 of workspace. Our different brands target different segments of growth companies, investors, entrepreneurs, digital artists and technologists.

Copenhagen’s new café for entrepreneurs

By News

Located centrally in downtown Copenhagen along the picturesque canal Gammel Strand and a stone’s throw away from the Stock Exchange and Parliament, the café serves as a casual place for meetups, meetings or somewhere to work. The café is part of the Matrikel1 coworking and entrepreneurial community of creatives, tech experts, entrepreneurs and founders.

“Beware, you might run into other founders and entrepreneurs while you’re here!” jokes Jonas Fancony, General Manager of Matrikel1. “The café is an extension of our coworking community here at Matrikel1. Our mission with the café is to create a space where entrepreneurs can meet and collaborate whether they are members of Matrikel1, or part of the wider entrepreneurial ecosystem.”

However, the café is not just aimed at an entrepreneurial audience. Other Copenhagen visitors and residents, alike, are more than welcome.

DIGS joins Mesh Community

By News

Founded by Mats Mathisen and Arnstein J. Syltern in 2013, DIGS was an early mover, and one of the original coworking spaces in Norway. The strong community, of tech companies and founders at DIGS, enjoys a solid local position which we are happy to become a part of. This move is further strengthened by our shared values with Mats and Arnstein, who will remain on site and continue running DIGS and our Trondheim operations.

“Trondheim is the tech capital of Norway and we want to be a part of the ecosystem there. DIGS is the leading coworking and innovation space in Trondheim and this merger is an important move to integrate even more creators in the Nordics,” says Anders Mjåset, Chief Product Officer and Co-Founder of Mesh Community.
